Can you lose the cops by hiding in GTA 6?
Not anymore.
Viral claim: “You can't lose the cops just by hiding” True
Not anymore. In GTA 5 you broke line of sight, waited for the stars to flash and the police forgot you. Rob Nelson put it this way to IGN: "You could lose the cops instantaneously, and then they forget about you instantly." In GTA 6 the police remember a description: your clothes, your face, your car, and whether you were alone or with someone.
You can see it in Rockstar's own footage. Under the wanted stars there are icons for people, a clothes hanger, a face and a car. Hollow stars mean they don't know what you look like yet, and the meter goes up to six.
So you lose them the way a real criminal would: change your outfit, ditch the car, cover your face or split up.
