Is GTA 6 a 677 GB download?
No.
Viral claim: “GTA 6 is a 677 GB download” False
No. The 677 GB number comes from an edited screenshot made to look like an Xbox store listing. It came from a parody account and even said "Install on your home Xbox One". GTA 6 isn't on Xbox One. Insider Gaming traced it back to the edited image.
The real number came from Rockstar in November: the pre-load needs up to 212 GB, depending on your console. That's still more than GTA 5 (87 GB on PS5) and Red Dead 2 put together. Pre-load times and storage.
Why 677 scared people: an original PS5 has about 667 GB you can actually use, so it would have been bigger than the whole drive.
